Default T-Mobile G1 Expected To Sell Half A Million Handsets in 2008

T-Mobile G1 sales in the US are expected to infuse NT$7 billion (around $220 million USD) into HTC’s fourth-quarter revenue, according to company sources. T-mobile plans to order between 1.5 and 2 million G1 handsets in the near future, with sales ... Read more

"Industry leaders note that although being inferior to the HTC Diamond, iPhone 3G and the Samsung Omnia in terms of exterior design, the G1 will draw in customers with its easy-to-operate interface and convenient network functions."

Huh? I don't like that part in bold. That is very subjective.

That is quite subjective. Personally, I like how the G1 looks. To me, the iPhone looks overly "blingy" and pretentious.

i don't think the phone looks ugly either. i think the G1 looks just as nice as all those phones they listed. i guess to some people that if it's not all shiny they don't think it looks good.

Ugly? (compared to others) maybe. Practical? (based on images) for sure.
I could wait for a nice android based phone from Sam or LG but what are the chances of those phones having a QWERTY keyboard. Not going to happen.
G1 is what it is, I look forward replacing it with a bad *** device in two years.

Earlier, I remember they had mentioned that they expected to sell about 700k G1s in 2008 alone. This seems like a drop in the estimate, which might indicate that the presale took a bit longer than expected . But I am positive that the G1 will sell like hot cakes .

And yea, I definitely do not agree with the G1 being inferior looking than the Touch Pro. iPhone, yes, but not the Touch Pro. Touch HD, maybe .

Common guys, admit that the iPhone is definitely sexier than the G1. G1 is like a well skilled, well built guy who is extremely useful and is an all-rounder in most types of tasks, but is handsome nonetheless. Although, iPhone is like that pretty blond, who costs a lot to keep but dosen't do much .

as stated before... the iPhone is the Ferrari while the G1 is the Porsche 911.

ive never used an iphone, and i am just making an assumption here, but the iphone just looks like this thin rigid thing that doesnt look at all comfortable to hold up to your ear to talk to someone. the g1 however looks more like a phone. and i dont like how apple handled it with having lines at stores and all that garbage. it looked more like the line to a star wars premier than it did to buy a phone. I'm glad that the g1 was an online preorder too, because theres no way im waiting in a line for days

What drew me to the G1 is Google and Android. I couldn't care less if it looks less "sexier" than the aforementioned phones. I depend on Google for everything (Gmail to google financials, docs, apps, etc) this phone appears to be the one for me.
