    Default T-Mobile G1 Review round-up

Reviews of the first Android-powered handset the T-Mobile G1 have surfaced and many people are finding the G1 less than fantastic. Many have gone on to say that it did not meet expectations set by all the hype. One common issue that was reported was ... Read more

wow. that's scary that this phone may not be as great as it sounds. Especially since I've been counting down the days til I get one. Anyhoo, I am still excited. It is the first version of the phone so of course there are gonna be some issues.

I don't feel that any of the problems everyone is talking about is such a big deal. I can't see why a software update would not be able to take care of most of them. Only thing that bothers me is the battery issue. I can see how this would get under my skin. Then again I have a charger at home, office, and in my car. Guess I'll just need to wait, and see.

After reading all the reviews, it has not changed my mind in anyway. I've been waiting for a phone that has a keyboard like the sidekick, and the touch screen like the iPhone for some time now. Guess what...? It's finally here! I'm not one that uses apps much. I might grab a few, but that's it. I mainly use the phone, well... as a phone. I do text a bit, but that's it. Everything else is just extra goodies I could use if I really wanted to.

All I can say is.... BRING IT ON T-MOBILE, AND GOOGLE! G1, I STILL WANT YOU BABY!

I totally agree. There are going to be some issues, but what phone is 100% perfect? If there was a phone that is 100% perfect, EVERYONE would have it. The negative reviews are not going to hinder my opinion of it. I don't care about video, out of all the phones I have had that have had video I maybe used it 2 or 3 times and that was just playing with it. The only thing that I may find slightly irritating is the lack of consistency throughout the applications. But that's just my small quirk working in the tech industry. There should be some consistency within any UI. Whatever issues people find will quickly be fixed by a developer. I'm sure there will be several sites with updates that are not in the Market.

I'm still excited, can't wait to get mine and play with all the goodies. Just a tiny amount of concern about the batt. Real tiny amount though.

The battery only slightly concerns me. Remember the iPhone had battery issues that were corrected with an update! Plus, the battery reviews are slightly misleading in my opinion. What will be the first thing you do when you get your phone and it's fully charged? You will probably spend a good amount of time personalizing it and messing with every option there is, enabling wifi, GPS, scanning every barcode in your house, maps etc...

It comes fully charged. Now I can never complain about the iPhone battery. If you could kill background processes I am sure the battery would not be bad at all.

what makes me mad is that all the problems that people are talking about is things they knew about the phone long time ago. T-mobile, google, and htc never said they was trying to be the new Iphone. they just want to make a phone that has no limitations and to make an internet phone. People need to stope comparing it to the iphone

most of that is opinon, as far as battery life goes, they are all playing with the phone non stop and not letting it go into standby so 6 hours of using the phone is pretty good, an hour here an hour there on average. but if you let the phone go into standby than the batt will last alot longer. anyway we'll see when it comes out what the majority of people think about the phone not just a few criticts that are looking for the "perfect" phone.
