ummm.. from the reviews I saw on some sites I think those issues are not major issues because it could be fixed by updating the system ..
I used a lot of mobiles OS's and all of them needed update specially if they were new so all of the software issues are really not a big deal..

the only concern is the Arabic support and I suppose it has some developers working on it and i saw some efforts in that field .. i hope to get my phone as soon as possible I already pre ordered one from the ebay and it will be shipped soon...

hopefully i will be making a review in Arabic for it and i will help the community by letting people to know about it here in the meddle east region..

    keep up the good work

sorry for my bad English because it is not my first language ...

Just like everyone mentioned before me, I am 100% sure that updates will fix all the bugs and issues. I am just wondering, if it's possible to come up with a program that will allow one to turn off all the programs/apps running in the back ground. Something like "Task Menager" in Windows... I myself held the phone in my hand in the T-mobile store, because one of the employs had one (no idea how the guy got the phone three weeks ago) and it felt great. I am looking forward to it, and my anticipation did not change after I've read the review. Also, it would be nice if they would make an update, that will preserve the battery life. I know that Apple came out with such an update for the Iphone. So can't wait for it to come!

There is always room to improve Anything that is man-made, nothing is going to Perfect. I've waited for so long for T-mobile to come up with a viable TouchScreen phone and the Wing is too child-like. Though I do wish that Google would have made G1 with a Chrome/Stainless Steel Casing for a Nice/Made to Last appearance(more Adult-like)but I hope that can maybe in the near future. But none of the negative crap will turn me off from my G1. I have nothing to lose and when G2 or G3 comes out, my G1 will serve as Backup as well as a Treasure of the First.

in google maps, it will report that no gps location could be found because you have to manually turn it on in the settings... people were probably just too ignorant to figure that out to be quick in killing its capabilities... out of the 4 g1's i have handled, they all worked as intended... as far as battery life, 3g is known to be a killer, so that is what is to be expected... 5 hours of talk time is standard, and i had no issues with the long press... they probably just have fat fingers...

the UI is completely customizable, and its up to developers to create a more user-driven experience... seeing how it is open source, a developer can completely change the UI for the better, where as you can't really do that on the iphone... revolutions don't happen overnight, give it time

Has there ever been any "new" product released to the public for the first time that was flawless without something to complain about. Bottom line - I'm excited to be getting my G1 phone this week.

I have never owned an iphone for the fact I didn't want to pay the $$$ to terminate my current contract with t-mobile. I have held off hoping that the announcement last year with Google would come up with something -- and here it is! I'll live with the flaws hoping there is more good than bad

T-minus, 24 hours. My delivery time got moved up a day.
They better not be screwing with me, cause i'm gonna be all over this fone.
I even put the ipod touch purchase on hold for the time being. Gotta give all the new toys equal time.

This is gonna be sweet. Finally a real fone from T-mob that isnt a crackberry, or a god awful windows mobile ("you know i'm gonna crash on you one day.") crapfest.

I can honestly say that the only thing that bothers me about this phone is the physical appearance. I have the SKLX and its nice looking. All the other touch screens out there are nice looking. The G1 is just so plain... but it's not enough to deter me from purchasing this phone!

if you can plug in the USB to a computer and charge it, isn't the battery life not such a problem?
Since I'm around computers all the time anyway except while travelling....
