As more and more tips come in regarding the T-Mobile G2 it gets harder and harder to sift through and decipher what is true and what is not. So all information as of new should be taken as nothing more than a rumor. Here is what a tipster tol... Read more

"The T-Mobile G2 will actually be launched on another global carrier with a different name, as T-Mobile G1, G2 and G3 are trademarks of T-mobile."

    What the F***!

It's going to be a G2 under another carrier, why would they modify the G1 to sell on another carrier.

And how!? If the G1, 2 & 3 are Trade Marked

So what will the second generation G1 look, if they stole the design for this phone here

    How confusing is that...

It looks like HTC Blackstone chassis with the Android OS. Personally I want a hard keyboard but let's wait and see

I admit that Shawn was slightly overzealous with the story (and that’s what make him the perfect editor). That being said, I fully support and back him on this piece. Android Community does not owe any of you “displeased” visitors one f-ing apology. Those of you claiming AC should be ashamed for running this story — well I guess you can say the same for countless other major publications starting with Mobile Crunch, Michael Gartenberg of Media Bistro or ZDNET.
So here’s the bottom line, if you’re not satisfied with our coverage, I’ve said it before in the community and I’ll repeat it here —- you’re welcome to visit other Android sites, Android Community isn’t the only Android news / community source on the web! One last thing, feel free to email us your member ID (androidcommunity @ gmail.com) and we’ll be more than happy to delete it from the system.

Wow sounds like the AC staff loves us to death. All you guys had to do was correct it and apologize like any "journalist" should. Instead you tell the people that support your site where to go? I'm confused here.

Shawn in response to the new article, much better, still definitely sounds like a rumor.(Glad you said it was this time. That's all you had to do last time!) Maybe you could do some digging and find out where the "tipster" was or went to "see" the G2 and the other carrier's phone and not the G3....was it a conference, demo, corporate espionage? Just wondering. I think AC would love to see a piece on the "Anonymous Tipster" and his sources.

Um, if it is going to released by a different carrier with a different name then it is NOT the t-mobile G2, now is it?

Nice way to back off your earlier ridiculous post about the G2. I hope the more page hits you get is worth the hit you took to your credibility.

Well that makes a bit more sense...I still think I am in favor of a full QWERTY keyboard but I would like to see how this pans out.

This isn't a tmobile or even a htc phone. It was announced shortly after the g1 came out.

It's being released by some no name Chinese company that is using "G2" to cash in on the G1's popularity. All this aside, AC's handling of this "story" has been rather poor. Using a litlle common sense, tmobile would have never gone with the g1 if its replacement was going to be only a few months down the road

Keep the facts and rumors coming! I like this site for the updates it provides... true or not. I come here for facts, truth, information... and sometimes (believe it or not) entertainment...which is exactly what this story was. You folks are still cool in my book!
