T-Mobile shipping out extended life battery to current T-Mobile G1 owners

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so crazy. I bought a Tmobile Shadow from a friend and STILL got my extended battery and cover for it when i called tmobile. They didn't advertise that you could get this battery, but if you called and asked they would send it. SO if they did it for the shadow i actually find it quite probable that they would offer something similar for the G1.

I have to laugh at all the comments about how thick the G1 is.

Last month I was cleaning out a closet and found a box that had the first cell phone I owned (circa 1995 or so). It's battery was as thick as the G1, and all told the phone was over twice as thick as the G1.

Is a hunchback battery ideal? No, but even with a hunchback the phone will still be less than 1" thick.

i can see it now if i got the extended battery...
woman bumps into me and brushes against my leg, notices a bulge in my pants , then says are you happy to see me.... no thats my G1 in my pocket and im happy to see you..

Well in that case they can make the G1 as bulky as they want.

This is completely false information. I called T-Mobile 4 times last night and got 4 different people from different HTC/Data phone departments.

Every single one of them said that this is false information.

It would be nice though.

I'm just going to get the 2400mah phone with the extended case. Its kinda bulky but its worth the battery power.
