    That's called a "colloquialism."

sorry to get off topic, susan.

it's just that, since we're all communicating in writing here, it would sometimes be nice--for clarity and ease-of-reading if we could adhere to certain basic language standards. i was kind of half-kidding. not trying to be a grammar nazi, tempting though it is, sometimes. i'll try to confine my nitpicking to the off-topic area in future.

    funny picture, danguyf!

Chiming with a reply that will doubtless please no one, I suggest that the use of singular or of plural in such cases depends on what you mean as the author or speaker.

    http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/group.html

When the group is being considered as a whole, it can be treated as a single entity: “the group was ready to go on stage.” But when the individuality of its members is being emphasized, “group” is plural: “the group were in disagreement about where to go for dinner.
In this case, "T-Mobile USA (the company, singular) confirms more G-series devices," but "T-Mobile USA (engineers/technicians/managers, plural) are looking to double."

    C'mon, that's funny!
    Ehh.
I have noticed T-Mobile being somewhat tight lipped about Androids future. I'd like to have some kind of confirmation that they intend to truly throw their full support behind the platform.

    ok that was funny...

i don't know what to say about tmobile supporting the os. on one hand they were the first to put it out there, on the other no they haven't said much lately, but do they ever? i think they'll come along.
