ZiiLABS to Showcase a Zii Optimized Android Phone platform next Month

Android, as we all know, is popping up in many devices nowadays, and not just cellphones. But it is a mobile platform, and that makes a lot of companies like Dell, to try to get more mobile devices out to the public. Now is the turn of ZiiLABS to enter the Android zone.



For some reason, China is becoming the promise land to many companies, as we know Dell will be releasing the Mini 3i Android smartphone on that country first. Also in that country, on December 1st, a Zii Optimized Android Phone platform will be showcased, at the Zii Summit 2009.

The company called Zii Labs is owned by Creative, and will be showcasing green solutions for developers on next month's Zii Summit. But lets not get crazy going through all the products and services, instead, check below for the main dish - at least for us on this Android site - which promises to be a real media powerhouse. Zii Powered Devices A range of OEM-ready Zii Powered devices will be showcased - powered by ZiiLABS ZMS-05 and ZMS-08 media-rich application processors. As an active owner of Zii EGG device – a beautiful piece of hardware by itself, – I must say that it is extremely buggy and unstable in Android 1.6 mode. It’s in alpha stage at best. Even USB connection to a PC doesn’t work. SD card is constantly reported as being "suddenly removed". Etc, etc.
Unfortunately Zii labs developers forum does not enjoy enough attention from Zii staff. A lot of disappointment there. Hopefully that will change…
