If you are on a "waiting list" at a T-Mobile store, then you might want to read this.
I just talked to someone at the store in which I had my name placed on a waiting list. I wanted to confirm that the waiting list still EXISTS, and also ask if this meant I was guaranteed a phone on the 22nd. The guy told me that I should wait for a phone call from the person who took down my info, and that they would set up an appointment for me to come in. That's right, he said APPOINTMENT!!! When I asked him if he was getting calls like this regularly, he laughed and said, "All the time!" I felt bad for adding to the list of worried G1 coveters who are calling, but after reading a few posts on this site that said T-Mobile reps were telling the stores to get rid of the waiting list, I felt I should call. I told the guy about what I had read, and he laughed and told me the waiting lists are still very much intact.
He told me that they weren't going to be able to hold my phone "for too long" and that if they started to run low on supplies, that they would have to release my phone for someone else to buy. It's starting to look like I'm going to have to take a personal day to get my hands on this bad boy. The store usually opens at 10am, but on the 22nd he said it would be open at 8am.
I hope this eases some of your worries!
Not meaning to rub it in, but I am so glad that I pre-ordered!!!
ANDROID... CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!!!
Im so glad i went through corp!!!
I tried pre-ordering, but I would have had to pay the $299 price instead of the $179. The guy on the phone told me I was really close to being at the 22 month point, so he said he would make a note on my account that I would be eligible for the $179 price....but only if I went to a store and bought it on the 22nd!!!
Believe me, if I would have been able to pre-order it, I would have. Just didn't want to spend an extra $120.
I've got my name on three different waiting lists, so if the one I mentioned before falls through, I've got two other stores to bank on.
Can I tell you the difference? No. I just know that I wasn't eligible for the $179 price, so I have to go buy it at a store on the 22nd. Doesn't matter. I actually like challenges. Makes things more interesting. Pre-ordering, then sitting around waiting for it to be delivered to my doorstep seems too easy.
looks like i have to check it out....don't want to waste a FTO day just to not get my precious....
