I think that actually even having a filter makes this an actual issue. If someone goes around dropping the f-bomb on a modded forum, he will be called out by the more adult crowd, "Calm down bro". In a filtered forum this is blocked out so the person can endlessly drop the f-bomb without repercussion because it's already blocked by the time someone else reads it. I was a member of a community where there was not a filter, a la exhibit a, where the person would be called out and if they couldn't get their repetitive swearing in order, they'd get banned.
At any rate, it's not my forum so **** it.

I'm attempting to understand your logic, however misguided it may be.
How can the use of filters be a issue? Thats like saying "The reason we have rules and laws is an issue". In any society (or internet forum) its not up to the members to become Judge, Jury and Executioner. Thats the job of the Moderators. Its the members job to report the offense to the mods and let them handle it. If you see a crime being committed do you round up a posse and go after the guy? No! You call the police and let them handle it.
I think a lot of you are getting confused with the reason why the filters are implemented. Its because this is a family technical forum pertaining to Android, and they feel that there is no reason for anyone to use that kind of language here. Sure you can make innuendos and spell your way around the filters, but your taking a chance on it. I for one am glad to see that this is a clean civilized forum. I enjoy having spirited and meaningful conversations with intelligent people who know how to get their point across without having to curse.
Before anyone calls me a prude and thinks I don't cuss, your sadly mistaken. I just do it responsibly. Everyone cries for the freedom of speech, but are you willing to take the responsibility that comes with it.
"REMEMBER, KNOW ONE IS SAYING THAT YOU CAN'T CUSS, ALL THEY ARE SAYING IS YOU CAN'T DO IT HERE"
WITHOUT WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE IS USELESS.

Scunthorpe. Lovely place in northern England. Not caught out by the filters though...
How come ****pit is?
Even if it is the decision of the forum moderators that we should filter swearing, I still think the original point stands - the filters are mistakenly matching the work ****pit and need to be improved.
It's all very well saying that swearing is not acceptable, but the solution is faulty.
