Thought I'd post a greivance with a member of the mod team here. Under my previous alias (Fpad77), I'd made a post to discuss the possibility of android based merchandise (whether the android character is going to be made into a desktop figure as such--which I think would be cool, if not, would interest help there be one..).

In the post I linked to a couple of images of such figures to explain the type of thing I meant, and posed whether anyone had heard if they existed or whether there are going to be any.

Now, I follow this site quite regularly, so you'll understand why the next time I looked into the forum I had a message telling me I was banned, callously labelled under spam and a perma-ban, that I was quite peeved, my post had a topic, was relevant, and not commercially based.

So I ask exactly on what grounds did the mod that took action on that have to ban(and perma-ban!?), which is pretty much a kick in the face to someone who takes an interest in following the android platform, and was only making a discussion of something to do with the android platform

My only conclusion was the mod saw a few links in the post, saw my post count wasn't over 1000, didn't bother to read it, deleted it and banned me. I'd hope they don't welcome other people to the community in this way.

Oh also I apologize on behalf of a.c. not sure obviously at this point what happened, but unfortunately we are human and do make errors. And I would be willing to bet it was in no way towards you.

I'll be honest (and no offense intended) but even as I posted I wondered if it was spam. Glad to know that it wasn't. However in our attempt to keep this place free from the constant barrage of spam we do occasionally mistake something honest as your post as spam.

Hopefully (I'm not sure of the details, honestly) we can retrieve your old account.

And I still want a bobblehead android!

Sorry to hear that. This is probably what happened:

We have a spam filter that automatically moderates posts with certain criteria. Probably your post got auto-moderated and then the mod thought it was spam. The moderated posts are very often spam.

Again, sorry. I'll speak with our team to make sure we're checking posts before designating them as spam. Please re-post your item if you like. We'll try our best to keep this from happening in the future.

...and yes, we can retrieve your old account if you want. Your post history may be gone, unfortunately.

We're all human here and are not infallible! Mistakes do happen sometimes. I know who banned you, but I don't think it's appropriate to say who, but I will say this - The person who banned you is a very esteemed figure within this community and has to deal with a LOT more than your average user, including deleting a great deal of spam. It is very much NOT a case of it being a "trigger happy mod" - just a mistake.

Would you like your previous account to be unbanned? I'm afraid that it appears as if all your posts were also deleted, which is what happens when accounts are banned for spam purposes.
