    you would need root access to run those commands

    It came from this thread http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f...nt-panic-2895/ word for word. Guy didn't have a G1 so he was just guessing it would work so this is just someone else asking if it would work not suggesting it would work,

    i got connected, working on getting apps and stuff moved.

    Thats not the right dir though, i found it but i closed telnet so ill have to find it again.. grr

    Indeed. I'm not doing it until someone else confirms functionality.

    I worry that these changes would be irreversible EVEN with a "Factory Reset"

    telnetd doesn't seem to start on mine either. And of course I get a connection refused. Aw, man... were we just duped?
