changing the brower
I bought the G1 and then found out that I had to chance my plan to use it. Can I chance the brower via computer I would like to add Opera? Would I then be able to get on the internet? Thankyou for any suggestions I do not want to change my service plan.
*sigh*... I think I'll go spend some time with the family

You are NOT able to make Opera your default browser...
But you CAN use it, if you like

I haven't seen the documentation, but I'm sure libdbus could be modified to change default apps in Android. But there are so many other glaring omissions to the OS that I doubt we're gonna see that happen any time soon.
and why Opera? Steel is so much better.

Using a different browser downloaded off of your computer and transferred over USB will NOT allow you to access the network by any means other than wifi.
I think that is the answer you were looking for.
