Default Harry Slacker and the builds of Android

OK I know I have been talking about rooting for a while, and I'm getting close (especially after the announcement that the G1 won't be getting donut etc) but I have no idea which build/theme to use.

Can you guys post some screens of the different set-ups along with suggestions/advice/pros & cons of each one?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I can't seem to find it

its pretty much a toss up between stock rooted CRC1, Cyanogens builds and JacDrizzy's Hero builds..

go to XDA for the builds...AC for the discussions.

I'm guessing the basic root look is the same as the non-root version?

exactly the same, but it allows apps to SD for more storage and other things.

cyanogen is the way to go nowadays if you want a general look with very non general features and if u want the sense UI u go with JacDrizzy's Hero builds.

I use cyanogen, I had hero when i first rooted but it lagged a lot and it ate up soo much battery, so I flashed cyanogen 3.8.6.1 with tehseanos hero theme, and i love it, really fast and it looks great

Cyanogen should be releasing a stable 4.0 ROM pretty soon. I'd wait for that.
