I just watched the new Hero demo video, and i am in love with the UI, is there any way that it could all be ported to the g1?

it depends on what you're doing.if you've only glanced at posts on how to root a couple times and think everything is a cakewalk, you're going about it the wrong way. it isn't hard, but there is a known way to brick your phone. if you've never heard how, you probably haven't read enough. and one of the things you need to run this rom is what can possibly brick it. no, not soft brick where it's still fixable. i mean a real paperweight. but if you follow directions well, the odds are almost zero.
