can someone explain better how to check for DVT/PVT?

hold camera and press power. at the top of the screen you'll see dream pvt or dream dvt. if it say's dvt, do not attempt upgrading to 1.33.2005 spl. and forget about using any hero rom that requires it.

press back then menu, or pull your battery.

Since this topic is on the Hero rom, I thought I'd ask here.

How has the Hero rom progressed? I know there are multiple versions out now and was wondering if anyone knew if all the kinks are out? Mainly the LED and bluetooth.

Well just when I originally looked into rooting my phone no one ever said hey dummy @ Iceberg the root is the first slot in the sd card.
And another big problem was that every fourm said "update.zip" when in reality its really just "update"
And lastly I was following a form to root and when I got to the last 1.42 update [mind you I was completely new at fourms and such] the file extension wasn't there! :|

So I had a lot of trouble when I tried to root my phone haha.
I generally had a terrible time rooting my phone.
But recently my dad got the g1. [he originally got it when it first came out and returned it the first day saying its a plastic piece of junk. He hasn't had a good record with touch screens] this was after his Scene-kick lx broke multiple times and I rooted it for him with the Hero theme running on jf's 1.5

It basically went like a hot knife through butter :]
And good ole pops is happy with his g1 now.

I have a pvt so i wont be so worried about bricking my phone when I try a hero rom.

Though I'm running cyanogen's modded rom and I love it . But I gotta say hero looks freakin sweet!!!

hero looks nice, but doesn't always play nice. i tried it for a couple hours today and just did a nandroid restore back to dudes rc2 build.
