    From T-Mobile G1 FAQ:

    Main display
    Type: Up to 1048k TFT color
    Colors:18 bit
    Size: 320 X 480 pixels
    Dimensions: 1.99 x 2.77 inches

    VGA = 640 x 480
    HVGA (1/2 VGA) = 480 x 320 (G1)
    QVGA (1/4 VGA) = 320 x 240 (older PDAs/Smartphones)

    Then you have non-standard size: 800 X 480 (X1 Xperia)

    BTW, X1 only has 64k color TFT.

    Here is another good question. Since it is 320x480 and the workspace seems to be 3 screens wide, does that mean we can use a 960x480 jpg as a background?

    If you read the thread I linked to when I stated that "search is our friend" you'll see that the actual dimensions of the wallpaper is 640x480. Yes there's 3 screens, but there's a good amount of bleed over from one screen to the next.

    I'd hope Google was smart enough to program it so its dynamic. The apps would probably look odd if they were coded for the wrong resolution, but it wouldn't be too hard on the operating system, assuming they coded it correctly from the start.

    I sure hope so...

    its sitting on a linux kernel, linux can run on different res w/o being recompiled, so I am pretty sure this is the case with android...otherwise porting will be a bitch and 1/2

    THEY WILL TAKE OVER!!!
