Read the steps again. I don't think you have to "unzip" it. Just rename it and uploaded to the sd card "ZIPPED"

You rename the file "update" not "update.zip." It's already in "zip" format.

My computers shows the extention format so I have to ensure the zip is there (it's not update.zip.zip :P )

Side note though, I don't have the T-mobile sim card in there, using a different carrier.. Maybe I have to have that simcard installed?

Ok I followed the steps and on the "Exclamation mark" I pressed:

ALT-L (To see the text in the screenshot).

So when i do a ALT-S I get the following:

    E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
    (No such file or directory)
    E:Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip
    Installation aborted

The SDcard works fine when i plug a usb cable in, so i'm guessing maybe a problem with the file? I'll keep looking into it.

Worked for me! I just followed the directions on the OP and had no problems.

I did not get the text menu in the pics, only a picture based one.

However, I followed the instructions and it worked flawlessly.

Phone restarts itself 2 times and when it comes back on the boot time is VERY LONG. Don't be alarmed by that.

All my settings and data were intact.

This is great news for the future BIG updates that I won't be able to wait for.

Weird. I'd try re-inserting the SD card then restart. Try it unplugged from the computer if you haven't already.

I did not follow the link so maybe this was covered.

Where are they getting these updates from? T-mobile or from a phone that received it first?

The problem lies with my SDCard.

I tried another SDcard I have and it worked just fine.
