Divorcing Blackberry for Android....
finally thanks for putting up the file and steps works once again thanks
I am convinced that you need a microSDHC card in order for this to work. I have tried on 3 microSD cards already (all 1gig cards), and none of them can be read by the G1 when using the system recovery utility.
Is there a changelog for what was fixed somewhere?
Just to be super sure, for each of the cards, I went through the following:
Format the card as FAT
Rename the file to update.zip
Enable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Disable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Rename the file to update
Enable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Disable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Format the card as FAT32
Rename the file to update.zip
Enable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Disable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Rename the file to update
Enable "Use as USB Storage"
Try to update - Fails
Disable "Use as USB Storage"

The error I get is similar to what others are getting:
E:Can't mount /dev...
(Cannot find file or directory)
E:Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip
blah blah blah
Yeah see I didn't do any of that I plugged my phone up to the usb cable moved all the stuff from the phone SD card to a folder on my desktop renamed the file to "update" minus the quotes of course. Then I unplugged the cable powered down the phone and restarted it holding the home key. Everything went through fine rebooted on me twice and then ran fine. Maybe it only works on certain phones or something I don't know what's wrong. :-(
Worked great for me, thanks
did it as the directions state.. everything went well, but my build still says rc19. so i take it it really didnt work?![]()
