Please help me with root!

I am using the instructions found at www.webnetta.com/01/02/t-mobile-g1-rc30-to-jfv13 and am currently trying to install the telnet.apk from the website step 12 directs you to. When i download the file and click on it it says "the application you are trying to install will replace another application" and when i click ok and then install, it says download unsuccessful! please help me

Why not just download it from the market?

Just did this last night myself. Had the same problem with the telnet.apk step. It would appear to install, but then wouldn't appear on the list of apps.

I ended up just downloading it from the market and it worked fine after that.

Got all my caches moved over. Before I was constantly getting low storage space warnings. I'd have to clear out the browser cache a lot or the phone began to behave oddly. I usually only had 4MB-5MB of free space on the phone, which apparently isn't enough for smooth everyday use.

I've re-installed all 90 apps (plus a few extra for rooted phones) and it shows I now have 37MB of internal phone storage space.

Jumping on here now looking for instructions on how to tether.

You don't need to press anything, it's already set up for you

Just move on to the next stage
