The AC has been blowing up with this shipping thing... it is starting to get crazy around here ha. but i was wondering if anyone knew about predictive text? i know my t-mobile wing was the best phone when it comes to predictive text. Better then the iphone as sources say. But the only thing better then the iphone. ha. but that isn't what it is all about. the G1 and the iphone aren't even on the same level. it's not competing. because we all know Android is the future OS. but any word on predictive text, and how good it is?

yeah.... kinda... just how good is it at prediciting what you are typing... i don't really know if i use it that much... just as easy to type the word out then to go click on it when you are in the middle of typing... but helps me on words i'm not too sure about trying to spell.

I don't know about predictive text at launch. I don't have any experience with predictive text with a qwerty keyboard, so I'm curious to try it out. A friend and I are working on an on screen predictive text app using number keys for firing off quick texts without sliding out the keyboard, though.
Well, i haven't used it on a phone, but openoffice has predictive text in the writer and it's kind of a pain in the butt, but it is sometimes useful. In that program you have to hit end to accept the offered word or keep typing to type what you were planning anyway. So it can be useful with a full keyboard. I would think i would learn to like it given this is thumb and not finger typing. I'm fast with my fingers...really, really fast. but when it comes to the G1 I figure I will truly be all thumbs...<snurffle>
ASUS eee Pad Transformer en route!! T-mobile G2 in hand, N1 on loan to my daughter. G1 on ice.

Yes, precious...my Transformer is almost here...now if only T-mobile would roll out Gingerbread for my G2 already!!
Maybe it's more "suggestive text" than predicted. Like how Google searches have Google Suggest.
The Wiis Opera browser works the same way. You have a full keyboard on screen but when you start to type it shows words across a bar and you can click one if it's the word you are after.
