    I just ordered the keys since I already have a white G1. Glad to hear that part wasnt to bad. Any tips for doing just the QWERTY keypad?

    Mike,

    the QWERTY keyboard was pretty simple for me and my dad all you gotta do is remove like 4 screws and lift the motherboard for the keys and replace the plastic keys with the new one and replace it and your good to go

    Thanks man! Is the motherboard held in by clips or anytihng? Or does it just lift up?

    No problem, and its just a lift up sheet its easy you won't mess up the keyboard for sure.

    So has anybody else had any success opening up their g1?

    I want to open mine up to tighten the sliding mechanism as mine has gotten loose, but I don't want to break it.

    Especially after Johnny's experience.

    Anybody want to share a success story to make me feel more confident. :-)

    well i got my new replacement phone and its working great thanks again to SUSAN!!

    but ima have my dad to try to open my phone again and see if he can fix the touchscreen cause i know its not damage just need to reconnect the touchscreen panel securely and stuff
