Root on a HTC Dream in Canada with Rogers

If anyone has managed to get root access on there HTC Dream in Canada please post how here. I have tried some of the posted methods and none seem to work. One result I have seen is a model ID error and the update fails, and the telnetd method does not seem to work either.

Rogers has a good rom but I can't let them lock me out.

So far no luck, although I am learning a lot as I go along. Hopefully enough that I don't brick my phone when the time comes.

Hey all, just so you know we are taking up collections to get a Rogers branded HTC DREAM to Haykuro. He was one of the people that worked on rooting the original T-Mobile G1.
