I just dont get why when you switch screen on the home screen that the part of the image would go into the second screen and so forth... weird... not cool google

I think everyone has failed to answer that you can download a wall paper application to set the whole photo as the bacground without cropping it. I personally don't like the cropping either and I've come across some pains and dislikes about it all.

But currently I think I've got the best theme so far haha I'm running Smorgs Rom and using this Metal Slug like Zombie background then lock 2.0. It's pretty darn clean!

Don't bash the G1 its mighty resourceful, can't be mad for you not being resourceful just hit up the market and look around/do some searching.

The home screen wallpaper not only does it adjust Vertically but also Horizontally... wtf?

All this mofo wants is to have these beautiful ladies as his background... but noooo G1 doesn't like that it asks me to crop... and what for? Why doesn't it auto-adjust?

I need a fix, fellas - help a brother out!

Unfortunately the G1 doesn't properly scale pics to fit the background properly. Also neither does any of the other apps without losing quality of some sort. That's why Photoshop is your friend. The original aspect ratio of your pic is 816 x 1024, and the G1 uses 640 x 480 for its wallpaper. Anything outside these specs will get cropped. I made a background for you keeping the same original ratio. Let me know if you want a different color other than black for the outer area.

guys i got a problem. i have resized some pictures to 640*480 for hero. now when i go to set wallpaper it gives me a cropping tool and i make the crop size to full picture and press save to set that picture as wallpaper. but i see that only a portion of that picture gets zoomed and set as wallpaper. there shud be any problem as the pictures r resized. any idea?

    Use Wallpaper Set and Save

It'll apply the full quality/resolution wallpaper. The default wallpaper app sucks.

New to the G1? Here is a very helpful thread on how to get started with rooting and installing new mods, builds and ROMS, and more! -->

It's Be Awesome When You Can Set Different Wallpapers On Different Screens, I Think I'll Make A Test One On Photoshop. Yay Something To Work On Lol

I have mytouch 3g, and i honeslty HATE it, in commercials it said "fully customizable" phone that fits you.........i get it as a gift from my dad and find out, its the ****ties phone i have owned in a long ass time, even my blackberry 8700c was better than this ****, but anyways enough venting.

Why can't there just be a program that lets you bypass the cropping part ? i have gotten the images that i wanted to 640 x 480 and it STILL asks me to crop it out, i mean WHY can't i just use the damn thing as i see it BEFORE i crop it out ? i mean is it really that hard ? and the themes are extremely hard to find without any additional software downloads.
