3 minutes with the G1.
So I finally caved and went into the 46th and 6th T-mobile store to play with the G1.
First: Beautiful phone. The photos do it absolutely no justice. The matte finish is lovely. (this was the black one) Much smaller than I thought it would be.
Two: Touch screen is real responsive and the keyboard feels great. As good as the iPhone screen. I had no issue with the reach over with my right thumb...but I'm a big dude...with big thumbs. Felt very natural and was a snap to adjust to.
Three: 3G is quick...albeit im comparing it to edge considering ive never had a 3G phone before.
Four: Camera is great, app load time was great. All in all the system was great.
Five: I was in love with this phone...but I must admit that did change. I am now officially obsessed.
One week left. I'll try not to die.

Was the keyboard hard smooth plastic or did it have that rubbery feel so your fingers don't slip?

did the same today all the store have one as a test just ask for the manager and they will let you play with it like i did...love the youtube app fast and dont have to wait for buffering. can wait to get my next week....

The phone from what I saw is well worth it. And as has been said, the chin is barely noticable.

Me too... I don't want to spoil it for myself! It's tough to wait but the moment it arrives will be fantastic!
