AIM and Keyboard Questions

Firstly, can anyone tell me how aim works. I have a sidekick 3 right now and love its aim format, it doesnt show u as mobile on other people's lists, it has a nice buddy list setup and easy navigation and u can be signed on from ur sidekick and from the computer at the same time. So does anyone know if the G1 is just like this or what's different about it?

Also, I LOVE my sidekick keyboard, couldn't live without it. So can anyone tell me how the G1 keyboard compares to the sk3 keyboard. I'm ridiculously fast on the sk3 and would like to have a keyboard ican be this fast on. Will it be a small adjustment but I'll be able to work my way up o super speed typing? Or is it just like the sidekick 3 out of the box and I'll be typing very quickly immediately?

One more thing: about notifications. I hope it doesnt vibrate when you receive IMs or i hope there isa way to set what you want the phone to do when you receive different kinds of messages? Is that possible? So for exmaple if you want it to vibrate for sms and IMs you cant make it vibrate a different way for either of them? Or turn one of em silent while the other vibrates?

I havent even touched a G1 yet. And I havent touched a sidekick in years, so take whatever I have to say with a grain of salt...

But as for the keyboard... If its a "thumb-sized" qwerty, it couldn't be that much different, right? no matter what device it's on.

I haven't touched a G1 as well, but I have seen reviews that have said that the keyboard is very similar to the SK3. I would think so since there is a "chin" on the right side which would give a SK3 feel.

There is no phone currently out with a keyboard better than the sidekick, there is no phone that multi-task better than the sidekick. The sidekick isn't the best but it is the best at work it does, IM, Emails & Txt.

its a phone for preteens, Im not going to lie I had a sidekick but I grew out of that phase a loong time ago

No I'm not saying don't get the G1 I'm actually leaving my Sidekick LX for the G1. I was responding to the guys who were talking bad on the sidekicks. I'm hoping the IMs on the G1 is as good as the Sidekick myself but I think its a good move. I'll still be keeping my sidekick, jus in case.
