So I got the phone up and going, very happy. Got the contacts from my SIM card, great. Got a couple text messages, nice.
But when I try to reply, or compose a new message, the always come back instantly as not sent.
Any ideas?
Thats odd, I haven't had that issue at all, hopefully you get it resolved.

I went to [Operator Selection -> Search Network -> Tmobile] and it worked after that. Dunno, hopefully it continues to work.
Thanks for solving your issue and letting us know... and Welcome to AC!

Hmm was you sim unlocked from your last phone? Don't think that's how it works but who knows...

First time user here at Android Community and I found out about these forums while trying to resolve my SMS problem!
BUT...unfortunately, none of the solutions people have mentioned have worked for me.
I have the same problem as well when sending a text message. It says "Message Not Sent" and I called CC and I did almost everything possible to try to get texting to work; hard reset, removed sim card/battery, powered on /off, etc. Still..."message not sent"!
So a few more calls to CC and they've told me that this is a "known issue" and people in the Engineering department are "working" on it.
Is this true for anyone else that can't send a text message? OH and the weird thing about this is that I can receive an SMS message & send out an MMS message. WTH?!
Help meeee AC!
I also have this same issue. CC told me my sim card is dying? Anyone figure anything out yet?
You guys can go to a local TMo store first thing tomorrow, or you can borrow someone elses SIM card?
If that dont work it must be your phones settings on SMS, let us know.
I had that issue as well. I called CC and was told it was prob my SIM card. I went to the local store and got a new SIm. Problem solved.
Good luck
I just turned of my g1 and then turned it back on and it let me send messages just fine again.
