Other people on AC have experienced similar audio problems....but I don't think anyone has solved the issue yet.

Hi guys,
I've been experiencing a strange occurance during the last couple of days when I playback audio from either 'Music' or my podcasts (different podcast apps).
At first I noticed it when playing back a podcast, and thought that it might be the podcast itself, or perhaps the headphones distorting. However, the more I listen to the issue it almost sounds like there is not enough processing power to play back the audio.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and, if so, did you find a resolution for it?
Thanks.

Download the Task Manager and see what's running. I've had a few pauses due to new messages via Messages and Meebo but nothing of the sort of stutturing. How fast is your Memeory Card (Class), Maybe reading the cache and playing music is just too much for your card. If you have App2SD it will make it more intense on data transfers too.
Lunfai...at the moment I have a 2Gb microSD card (came with the phone), but do not run Apps2SD. I know the stuttering you mention when messages, etc come in, but this is not the same kind of thing.
There was another thread on this issue (I think it is the same thing?) but nothing to solve the problem. I am waiting on a response from HTC. Basically the music is breaking up at the start of the track. I have noticed that if you have the display on all the time the problem goes away....but obviously not good for the battery life! Will post the HTC response if & when I get it.
Thank you for your information and soon reply to my question.
Got this response from HTC support regarding this issue:
"I will attempt to replicate this here and forward details to the developers"
I have been having this issue too (hence how I ended up here).
Having read what you guys have been saying and checking the symptoms on my phone, I'm pretty sure the issue will be:
Power saving within the phone, throttling back the CPU cycles when the screen's off.
Thoughts on this theory for anyone else?
Once, I sort root, I'll try an O/C app to change the frequencies for power saving mode to TRY an confirm.
That sounds very promising....makes sense when you think about it!
