Auto retrieval of email issues??

Any one else having these issues I am never informed when I have an email, my pop3 account is set to "auto retrieve" every 15 minutes and i is not doing that. I have Gmail set up to auto sync and I never get an alert and on BOTH of these accounts I have to manually retrieve my emails...WTF! Is any one else having these issue? I am REALLY trying to give this phone a chance but it seems as though I find something "else" tat is not operating as it should.
The ony thing saving me from sending it back is the possibilities once they start sending out the OTA updates (should have already happen)

I have temporarily given up trying to get my PoP 3 Comcast account to work on my G1. I gave up after 3 days of futzing with it.

okay if I am the only one this is happening to than it is an isolated incident, is anyone else able to sync their POP3 account automatically and also get the notifications and the alert??

This is a known issue and is being addressed in the first OTA build update, due to be coming out any time.

Use your gmail account to collect your pop3, works great

I have the same "issue" with my YAHOO!
WTF?? my sidekick LX never had "issues" might be returning G1 if problem not corrected in a week or so 400$ WTF!!
