I just got of the phone with the T-mobile customer service rep, Erica, I was checking the status of the 2 orders for G1's that I placed, she told me since i had ordered them on the 23 and 27 of september, that they would be SHIPPED OUT, on the 22 of october, I asked SHIPPED or DELIVERED, and i was told SHIPPED, I double checked, asked again, SHIPPED was the same answer again.![]()
id call back and ask again because with customer service its more or less who you talk to. Im not worried as to what one cs rep said. If it came from somebody else higher in the chain of command I may be a little worried but prob not. Tmobile has said all along if the order was placed before OCT 3rd. Your phone will be delivered by the 22nd of Oct.
Well...yeah...where have you been?
Haven't you noticed that T-Mo changed their website to read that you may receive your phone "as early as Oct. 22nd" instead of on or before Oct. 22nd.
As I've noted before, I live in an area where I doubt they have a large market, so I'm not expecting to receive my pre-ordered one until well into November.
T-Mo says they are stockpiling them near UPS distribution points to expedite delivery, but I have a feeling that again, my area will be low on the priority list. I'm sure T-Mo will want to have plenty of the G1's in stores in major markets so they can sell them retail for a higher price.
So.....here I sit and wait.
While I'm at it, does anyone feel a little abused over the bait-and-switch T-Mo pulled on the data plan? I find it rather dishonest that they still advertise it as "unlimited" now that they've instituted the 1GB cap. I personally think they should be made to state that explicitly in the plan description rather than trying to hide it in the disclaimer in the footnotes.
Yes, yes...I'm sure many will point out that it's still unlimited, you'll just be capped at 50kbps speed over the 1GB limit. But it is intentionally misleading....especially at a time when other companies are getting slammed for similar practices.

where have I been? Where have you been? The 1 gb cap has already been removed. Also it clearly states orders placed prior to the 3rd of Oct. will recieve there device on the 22nd of Oct. Those who placed there orders after the 3rd of Oct may recieve their device as early as the 22nd of Oct.
nope not the case. i was just coming here to post this. i just called to try to get my shipping address changed and i was told the same thing. that the phone would not be shipped till the 22nd. she said that t-mobile warehouses would not have possession of the phones till that date.
I was on the phone with a rep yesterday and he had told me that some of us may actually get our phones before the 22nd.

Yep, the one I talked to yesterday said I'd get mine by the 22nd.
G1 is so good, they ought to make it a vitamin!
