Has anyone else noticed that the G1's battery life is getting better? When I first got the G1, it sucked ass. Four hours was about the max with everything on (except 3G). Yesterday, my G1 lasted me a whole day with me using text, Google Talk, Google Maps, Gmail, Android Market, random apps, or just simply playing around with it since I was bored. Oh yeah, I also talked on the phone for 2 hours and played the Bond song a few times through the speakers. Everything was on, except the 3G radio. I haven't received the OTA update yet, so it can't be that. Weird huh?
i made some changes to the sync settings, that seemed to help
yeah i noticed that too, bad news is though i can't determine what method been helping me because ive used both the drain battery method and also the not letting the battery died method (charging it as soon as the display pops up stating ya battery under 15% to charge it)
I have never drained my battery. In fact, I kept it charging for 24 hours once. I have no idea what's going on. All I know is the whole charge that lasted me 4 hours before is now lasting over 16.
Yup, I drained my battery when I first got it, charged it 100 percent, and its been getting better everyday it seems, also charges alot quicker too!

The same thing is happening with my battery and once it gets down to about 30%, it appears to drain at an even slower rate. Huh....it's a mystery...![]()

Maybe we jumped the gun a little bit on the battery issue. Perhaps this type of battery becomes stronger over time... Either way, if they can further improve the battery to last several days on a charge... Well, goodbye BlackBerry!![]()
I think the issue with the battery is not so much that it's getting better, but the phone and the battery are breaking in, they're communicating more. I noticed when I first got my phone that the battery sucked life from the top half and fell within a matter of 4-5 hours below 50%, then the battery life would start to stretch and at around 30% it would be falling at a rate of about 3% per hour under normal use. It still falls faster from 100% to about 60%, but overall the battery life, while largely the same as before, is being broadcast by the phone a bit more stable.
There's also the considerations of the people operating the phones
*As time goes on we learn how to conserve the battery more
*And as time goes on we become less enthusiastic and stop playing with it constantly, prolonging the battery life
i just think we havent been using all the features as much becuase when im on 3g my battery still sucks big time so i believe its the settings and not the battery
me personally i've been stubborn, im paying $35 data monthly, so ive left my 3g and wifi features enabled and ive been using 3g webbrowsing and youtube videos viewing and my phone lasted more then 9hours, and before it wouldn't even last more then 3hours, i guess time will tell i'll continue doing both and see what happens
