Can the phone be "locked" on vibrate?

I have the phone set to vibrate for all notifications; but, if I accidently move the volume rocker off of the vibrate only position, it puts the phone in silent mode. Is there a way to lock the phone on vibrate only?

Lock your screen with the red end button and your volume rocker won't work.

Which is why I stopped using the pattern entry to unlock and just went back to using the "menu" button.

It get's old real fast having to enter in even a simple pattern.
