Cannot setup phone

Anyone else having problems setting up phone? I turn on the phone and try to login to my gmail account but it never goes through. I already called T-Mobile and they said that service may not be up yet for the G1. But shouldn't i get at least like edge or something? Anyone else have similar problems?

you honestly probably just typed in your username or password in incorrectly.

are you using a previous sim card or the one in the box?

I am using a previous sim card. i get a message saying that it is probably a temporary error or sim card is not setup for data. But i used this sim card in my blackberry and it worked good. My signal bar shows no bars.

The fact that you used that sim in your blackberry may be the problem. idk, just my $0.02

Everything worked 100% for me straight out of the box.. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Is your SIM card being read by the phone? Are you getting any type of SIM failed messages?
