    Default charge G1 with USB on computer???????


    i don't understand all the OTA, syncing, or whatever, but will you be able to charge the G1 on your laptop/computer, like i do with my MDA, T-Mobile Wing, and DASH?????????

    There should be somewhere a thread having video showing G1 being explained that charging through the PC is a go.
    Also, G1 will show on the computer as storage device once connected according to the same video. So, for advanced users we will be able to manually sync all information/files needed. However, I expect apps to handle the sync job more easier

    Just a note, I would not advise you to do this the first time you charge up your G1. I'm sure I have read somewhere that usb charging doesn't have the Oommpph (to use the technical term ) of a mains charger.

    Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

    I don't know if one charges faster than the other. I charged my phone twice yesterday, once on the charger when I received it, and once on my PC after using it (the battery didn't last too long, but that's another thread). I think both charged it equally quickly.

    I've charged using both... yes you get the storage device pop-up and yes charging via a computer is slower. (In the SD card options there is an option "Use for USB storage")
