I'm not saying its a good product. I like the itouch and use it often. All I'm saying is the ipod needs to evolve further if it is going to stay in business. Their constant restrictions on everything they do, or better yet, what you the user can do, is going to lead to their downfall. The only reason the ipod touch and the ipod's have been so popular is because there really hasn't been anything to compete with it. Is it going to be the Android and G1? A few people think so. Maybe, maybe not, all I'm saying is, it is a possibility, and it has the potential. Will it happen? Who knows?
EVEN THE CO-FOUNDER OF APPLE HAS SAID THAT THE IPOD WILL CEASE TO EXIST, SIMILAR TO THE WALKMAN. Do you want me to repost that article?
Stay in school kids, Technikal should be a good example of what happens when YOU FAIL AT SCHOOL.
Please go back and take some proper english classes, and learn how to type proper english.

YOU FAIL AT LIFE
I'll admit that I've been caught up in the excitement of having a new toy and reading every little bit of new information I can find,
but, seriously guys, they're just toys.
Expensive multi-function communication toys, sure, but still just toys.
Who ever got this angry over different brands of playdough?
I think the debate is interesting, but people take it too personal.
Here is the thing. I do IT for a large university; therefore, I get to handle a lot of different devices (mainly: iPhone, Blackberry, and Palm Treo). I can tell you that none of these devices offer a complete solution.
iPhone Cons:
For example, until recently the iPhone didn't support exchange so none of my users could sync their Exchange calendars OTA. Now that it does handle Exchange there are still issues; for example, it won't grab emails already in the mailbox. You can only see new mail.
A lot of older executives can't handle the touch screen keyboard either. It just isn't intuitive for people who grew up with type writers.
It is also an organizational mess, I mean every program you download just tosses an icon onto your desktop. Macintosh computers don't work this way, I don't see why the iPhone couldn't have had some sort of folder system. Not to mention saving documents locally.
Forcing iTunes in order to sync is pretty much criminal in my opinion.
iPhone Pros:
The way the iPhone handles attachments is awesome. You can read all the major document types (including power point). The multi touch interface makes it easy to zoom in and out. Excel documents even have the little tabs for multiple pages.
The phone is easy as hell to use. I've taught 65 year old men how to use the phone in less then 15 min.
Even though it isnt fully functional it does handle exchange which is crucial in a lot of corporate enviornments.
The palm treo is on its way out now that the iPhone has become more popular. The only draw to getting people to use treos was because they were super easy to operate.
The Blackberries are cool devices and they do offer BES server but try viewing an attachment on this device, it is awful and way too tiny for most people to read effectively. Plus the UI is confusing, the little button to the left of the pearl gives no indication that it serves such an important function.
G1 (android):
Now i love my G1, it does a lot of things right. Seriously, having an actual "desktop" to lay out all my useful programs is amazing. Being able to put folders on the desktop to organize my software is also a serious advantage.
The phone is very stable and easy to use once you get used to the little pull up menu at the bottom of the screen.
Unfortunately, until they give us an option to sync calendars other then gCal, I can't recommend this device to any of my users. Viewing attachments is pretty terrible too. Office documents open in a weird HTML viewer that doesnt allow you to zoom in or out.
In conclusion, I don't think its fair to pretend the G1 isn't a great phone just because the iPhone is a great device. Seriously, all the major gripes about the G1 and poor reviews are coming from iPhone users. To me it is like saying Hamburgers aren't delicious just because you like Pizza more.
This phone has way more to offer then most other similar devices (the web browser alone) and the UI destroys all other phones (except arguably the iPhone). More importantly Android is an open platform and we will find most of the issues taken care of in short order.
I came from an ipod touch, my entire family has an iphone, a lot of my friends have an iphone, so I'm pretty used to the iphone/ipod. Loved it, but couldn't stomach the $30+/month and going to AT&T.
I'm also really excited about what android will become and think the physical keyboard is a huge plus. Given that, there are a LOT of gripes I have..I've been playing with my G1 for a good 5 days now, and here's a list I've come up with. Again, I'm still excited about my G1!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- battery life is awful (will be fixed i'm sure)
- virtual keyboard (which they will fix)
- camera (not sure how they'll fix this..)
- no native accelerometer use (will probably fix, and could surpass the iphone if they allow it to be user choice per program..)
- laggy, seems like things that open automatically for an iphone/ipod touch take forever to load because it will not cache, most likely due to internal memory..
- while "loading" will just blank out many screens, again probably due to internal memory
- mail capabilities are horrible! if replying or forwarding a message, cannot change any of the reply section (gmail OR email program)
- sync with gmail/mail is horrible, takes forever to load messages. My ipod touch actually has ALL the e-mails and attachments internal memory...
- off of my last point, they need to have the sd card hold all the synced information AND programs!
- double tap only centers the text but doesn't zoom and "crop" to that width. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MULTITOUCH so this had better be fixed in 1H2009
- ATTACHMENTS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE EMAIL PROGRAM!!!!! (GMail it will work though...)
- a hassle to uninstall applications
- touch screen is great b/c it's capacitive, but has several quirks. If I swipe up, it will either not scroll up enough, OR...just scroll...scroll... all the way until the bottom, the "momentum" swiping is off
- no easy way to turn on/off gps (any cut program can get me shortcuts for 3g/wifi, but not gps)
- no way to set a continuous "reminder" beep or vibrate if I have not checked a missed call or an unread e-mail. I don't like relying on a green/red blinking light since I keep it in my pocket most of the time.
- Calendar is worse. Monthly view agenda view will not go past 1 week ahead, but will go many many weeks behind..should be the other way around..
while it's better than iphone on these fronts, it's stil frustrating how limited they are...but it will change soon..
it still has a VERY limited copy/paste
cannot copy any part of the "reply" section of an e-mail
cannot copy any part of a webpage
- cannot search within webpages
- cannot search within non-gmail mail
- cannot search within a single gmail message
- subsequently cannot copy the forwarded/replied parts of the message for use in a new e-mail
- no syncing of google docs
I have got to ask, What's with the video comments?
