Coming from an iPhone

G1 SUCKS!!! Android has a lot of potential but the G1 hardware is total crap. Sorry I ordered it. I am coming from an iPhone and will be going back to one. The G1 is unpolished and has no where near the quality of design and materials as the iPhone. You can definitely tell that they rushed this product to market.

I owned both the original iPhone and the 3G version. As of right now, having only owned the phone for 6hrs, I'd have to say the iPhone is allot easier. Once I get more familiar with the G1, and setup my shortcuts and what not, I'm sure I'll be 100% in the G1 camp.

Why did you leave? The hardware was known from the beginning and what applications that would be available on day 1? I know many people who choose to hold on to there WinMobile and Iphone because of that. Why didn't you? You sound like someone tricked you?

I did not leave. I think that the OS has a wealth of potential but it appears to be rushed and not polished like Apple's iPhone which is very polished. The software is laggy and jittery at best.

The hardware does not have the same quality as one would expect and it is a dated design. I am an Industrial Designer by profession and this phone misses the mark completely. The iPhone set the benchmark for software innovation and hardware design and the G1 doesn't even come close to reaching it.

I see big things in the future but for right now this doesn't cut it. The technology involved in software and hardware, not to mention in manufacturing and materials are to advanced to put out a product like this.

Typing on a virtual keyboard is difficult at first, but after a couple of hours of use it is quite simple and efficient. I fly using a virtual keyboard.
