Battery life improved after cupcake update
Battery life worse after cupcakge update
Battery life the same / Can't really notice a difference
Ehh, haven't noticed anything different neither. I don't use the phone like I did when I first got it so I really don't see much difference. Other than its starting to last me the whole day if I don't listen to music on it using the headphones.
so now that cupcake, is being pushed out, im guessing we can get more people to vote....
Do you mean battery life (which will obviously be the same after cupcake because the battery determines the capacity), or overall battery usage after cupcake? Sorry - being pedantic
Anyway, there are a lot of reasons why people will believe that a full charge seems to last longer after cupcake. Firstly, they've been told it will, and secondly, a whole bunch of apps stop working with cupcake, so there is less drain from apps.
Conversely, people may also believe it makes a charge last less time, because they use their phones more on in the period following the update to play with the new features, show their friends, find updated apps that are cupcake compatible, try out widgets etc. Suddenly they find themselves having the charge their phones several times a day.
Unless anyone does a proper test, we won't really know. A proper test would need to eliminate as many external variables as possible (i.e. WiFi off, screen a the same brightness, as few services running as possible, no apps running, airplane mode on, etc), so that the only battery drain is caused by Android doing its thing. Of course Cupcake may help battery life while running apps if it does so more efficiently, so you'd also need to perform a set routine launching and performing some tasks with some standard apps several times.
The above test would have to be done before BC and AC (Before Cupcake and After Cupcake).

I've had no difference in battery life after cupcake.
At this point, the only thing I'd suggest is just buying a higher capacity battery, in whichever flavor you like. All this obsessing over battery life won't allow you to enjoy your phone the way you like.
Do you constantly check your battery level, even if you haven't done anything with your phone between checks? If so, then something's wrong. Just enjoy the phone!
If anyone does decide to buy an "extended" battery, please read my review in the accessories section of the 1600/1700mAh battery. Oddly, it appears to have exactly the same capacity as the standard battery lol.
The only extended battery that has been proven (through proper tests, rather than a vague opinion combined with the placebo effect), is the one that requires the extended battery cover to go with it. Unless someone has ran proper tests on the Seidio 1400?
I haven't really noticed much when it comes to whether or not it's lasting longer, however I do find that the battery percentage is incorrect when charging and appears to be taking a lot longer than it really is. I'm always having to take out the battery to correct this. It's not a huge deal, but it is annoying having to do it almost everytime.

I've noticed it drains a bit faster if I am streaming music from Imeem or Last on Tunewiki. Usually when I do stream I have it plugged in anyway.
Otherwise it will stay charged longer during the day when I am just messing with it or leaving it idle.
It used to be around 15% when I got home pre-cupcake. Now it stays at 45-50%. It makes me very happy =] <-- see?
