Matte
Shiny
I took my G1 into Tmo tonight because it freezes about once a day. The employee told me that the first step to troubleshoot was to try a new battery.
The new one he gave me had a shiny back as opposed to the original which was matte.
Just wondering why the design change and if these are in fact different revisions of batteries(other than the visual difference)
I wonder if the original battery is a hair too thin, causing too much space between it and the phones backing, which could allow it to slip just enough off the contacts to freak the phone out.
This is only a theory because I still may have the freezing problem for all I know..
mine has a matte finish, i ordered on launch day 10/22 and it shipped 10/23 so its one of the earlier phones, my battery works pretty good
matte finish, i got it release day
I have a matte finished battery that say "HTC Innovation".

Buy the rumor, Sell the news.
it's monday and the phone has not frozen all weekend (knock on wood)
so either the new battery or rc30 likely solved the problem for me...(i hope)
both of mine were matte.
part#35H00106-02M
Anyone have a different part# ? I just got this phone left wednesday but im not sure what batch this phone is. The screen creek is gone and it feels more solid but it didnt come with the headphone adapter.
I think the new batches come with the newer updates e.g. RC28 and above though don't quote me on that...just what I heard.
