Enable 3g only mode!

This is pretty easy. Not sure if it has been mentioned before. But, if not:

Install Any Cut. Create a new shortcut, then pick activity, then scroll all the way to the bottom and make a shortcut for Testing. When your done, go back the the main screen and select the new shortcut. Hit Phone Information. At the bottom, you can pick the network preference! WCMDA Preferred, gsm only, WCDMA only or Unknown. (i don't know what unknown does).

So, if your looking to prevent your g1 from going to edge when you get a low signal, try this trick.

On Dialer,
-dial *#4636#*#*
-Testing Mode show
-Phone Information
-then you can see a lot of information data
-at the botton, chose WCDMA only
