Eris 2.0 OTA update

I was told the other day by a connection at Verizon that they will be pushing an OTA update for the Eris within the next week for 2.0 update. Not sure about the rumors about 2.1 coming to Eris, nor was he when I asked but he did say we should get 2.0 within the next week OTA.

Just a heads up for those Eris users who were wanting it.

No 2.0 update coming. There was an OTA bugfix update on the 11th that I just got last night and manually installed.

HTC will be pushing 2.1 out to us sometime in Q1 2010.

He specifically told me there was an OS update not the bugfix, but I'll call and ask him again cause I never received that OTA update you're talking about on the 11th.

Will let you know what I find out. There are also some rumors we may actually be getting 2.1 not 2.0 but he said he hadn't heard that just that we should be getting 2.0 very shortly.

I just recieved an OTA update about 20 minutes ago on my ERIS. Definately not 2.0 or 2.1. Must have been the bug fix. Just what bug did it fix anyway? No manual installation notification.

I just got it today and I'm not sure what it fixed, I know it made it so I can't just pull down on the screen while it's locked. I now have to hit power button while it's in sleep then menu to pull up my unlock pattern and this is just annoying.

I guess he was wrong about which update it was, I'll have to talk to him again and see if he knows when the 2.0 is coming up

I have a feeling there are many smaller updates which are not included in that document.

No 2.0/2.1 update until January at the earliest.

Just an FYI, you can still unlock the phone by sliding the screen. You have to use the little bar. You can no longer just touch anywhere on the screen and slide it, has to be on the bar.

Yes, there will be an update coming that will bring droid phones to the 2.1 OS. This will be coming in the 1st Quarter of 2010. Just be looking for it. Hello Google Nav!
