Not that much, have been on ext4 and ext3, hard to tell any difference.

I leave the forums for like a month or so and I'm so far behind on the knowledge curve it's insane!

That being said, can I upgrade my ext2 to ext3 without having to wipe my card and can I use the same appstosd I'm using currently?

Would it even be worth it to do so?

I want to upgrade from JF 1.5, but my G1 works so good and all the apps I have are perfect, it's just starting to run very slow and that is making it hard to use the great apps I have.

Wow JF 1.5 lol I'd say you have been gone more than a month haha...when you upgrade to amon and flash his recovery don't reboot recovery after the flash it might mess up your scripts from then on out

So the only thing that I'm going to wipe will be my G1 correct? I use MyBackup Pro for backup, but I think that works the same as nandroid yes?

Once everything is all said and done I just restore all apps from my backup and then restore all data and I will be good to go?

Sorry about the questions, I'm just worried about the transition since it's a new ROM and I'm messing with the SD as well.

it doesnt save everything . i use back up for root users and astro to save my apks . back up for root users reinstalls them , but not the private apps . none of the private/paid apps ever get backed up by any app for piracy issues . nandroid save a snapshot of your system at the exact state its in , everything .

Well, I've been here reading up until probably 2 months or so. I just really liked how my phone has been running so I just kept JF because there was no reason to upgrade.

As far as the second part of your message goes, I don't know what you mean. What process are you tlking about? Also, I've been reading and trying to soak in a lot of info today, maybe you can clear this up for me.

The Amon recovery is for the OEM or stock apps to work correctly again?

Everything that I have to do seems way too easy and I'm worried about that

amon recovery is to make modding your phone and servicing it much easier . thats the whole thing , everything is much easier now than before !

Well its deff not the same as nandroid lol..that backs up your whole rom where-as mybackup pro will do the zips of your apps so you re-download them and all your info...and if you follow instructions on cyanogens site you will be fine.....get amon recovery image 1.3.2 flash that in console then reboot normally(helps script issues you might have if you reboot recovery from the console), back to recovery wipe ext partitions, then flash htc 1.6 recovery image(their form or update.zip) without rebooting flash cyan 4.2.5 and your set

PM me if you have issues..instructions on his wiki are pretty hard to mess up though...also make sure your radio and spl are up to date and if all goes well with the flashing enter console after your last flash and enter fix_permissions
