Ooooooh. So I make a nandriod backup and then I don't have to reinstall the stock apps?

My ultimate goal is to get the new ROM so that my G1 speeds up again, but I want everything to stay the same. I don't need any new features or anything, just the speed of a clean phone again ;-)

PM me if you have issues..instructions on his wiki are pretty hard to mess up though...also make sure your radio and spl are up to date and if all goes well with the flashing enter console after your last flash and enter fix_permissions
Ok, so one last thing and I'm gonna start. I don't have nandroid yet, but I'm guessing I just hit a button for backups.

My major question is I keep reading "console" is that the name of the propt that comes up after the G1 reboot with holding the power button for 10 seconds?

cmbarry is right . if you nandriod , it will take you right back to jf . if using back up for root users , uninstall your paid apps before you flash , then reinstall them after you restore you backup for root users . if not , they will disappear until they get updated

its recovery , and you hold the home and power buttons together as you power up your phone . console is a option in the recovery .

Doesn't really matter I usually do the rom and make sure everything is running..then upgrade my ext and you can actually go to ext4 now
