Thread: Flickr log in Issues with the HTC Hero

    Default Flickr log in Issues with the HTC Hero

    So lately I have been asking some people if they have log in issues with their flickr accounts, and so far all American users using the HTC Hero could not log in to their flickr accounts.

    When accessing the log in page via edge the browser would say "Could not access the page", and when accessing the log in page via wifi, it stays loading with a small green bar forever.

    I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I have not heard any UK users have any problems, but if you do, then please report here. I assume if UK users also have this problem then its the phone itself and it would need to be fixed via an update.

    Go check if you can access the login page: Go to albums > Scroll to flickr > and click "tap to login"

    I am in Denmark and I have this problem too. Also, when accessing Facebook via the pre-installed bookmark sometimes I only get a white screen. Facebook connects fine for the Persons features though. Strange...

    Dear all,

    I had the same problem and I've found a way around it.

    Open the browser, go to flickr and try to log in. Here is where the blank screen appears for users like me (and some of you). Click on Menu to open the touchscreen keyboard and manually change the URL from https:// to http:// This worked fine in my case. Apparently, the Hero has problems with https-connections.

    Good luck.

    @CKsDayOff
    Are you also using an unlocked HTC Hero in America?

    @tangzq
    Thanks for confirming, I wonder why mines cannot work via wifi at all.

    @kingkeld
    So now not only people in the U.S are having problems, but also from Denmark, thanks!

    I still have not had enough gathered information on wether this problem is a software issue, or because of the area we are using our Heroes in. Please HTC users, if you can spare us 15 seconds, try this and see if this works.

    Thanks for posting this, I tried it on the browser and it works, but our main problem is accessing it through the Albums and HTC interface. When I try to log in to my account I cannot even push menu or anything. it just sits and loads or fails.

    My HTC Hero cannot login to Flickr. It's bought via TDC, but I do not know if it's SIM locked.
    The weird thing is that I am not being prompted for a Flickr login/PW - it just goes straight to the login page with the green bar and stays there forever.
    At first I thought it got the Flickr login from My Facebook account (I have linked the two via Facebook), but even if I logout from Facebook, the problem persists.
    Am I the only one finding the lack of login credentials odd? I mean, what is actually being attempted to log in to?
