For those having problems importing contacts...

I was using a BlackBerry without any external PIM (Outlook, etc) and when my G1 showed up I had to transfer my contacts into Gmail via their CSV import tool. Long story short I tried a bunch of CSVs with different field names and none of them seemed to work except for this one:

"Name","E-mail Address","Notes","E-mail 2 Address","E-mail 3 Address","Mobile Phone","Pager","Company","Job Title","Home Phone","Home Phone 2","Home Fax","Home Address","Business Phone","Business Phone 2","Business Fax","Business Address","Other Phone","Other Fax","Other Address"

That line needs to be the first line of your CSV import file.

I hope this helps anyone having the same issue.

Perfect! This worked for me, I had to export my contacts csv style in bitpim, then convert using this table.. it should be noted that even the most minor typo will cause things not to work. Thanks.
