G1 Adapters altering notifications??

Has anyone with any G1 adapter (i.e. 3-in-1, mini-usb to 3.5mm, etc) noticed that their alerts do not sound with the adapter plugged into their G1?

This happens to me whenever I have the adapter plugged in - the text message notification will vibrate, but it won't sound. When the adapter is not plugged in, I get the sounds again.

That's because when an audio plug is connected, even your adaptor, the alerts are going over the "headphone jack" as it's assuming you're wearing headphones.
