Minimal settings that work for me:

    Name: AT&T
    APN: wap.cingular
    MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com

Possibly cutting out some of the unnecessary stuff will help.

Everything works on my dev-G1, but mms is slow.

ok quick question- my friend who is on AT&T wants to buy a G1 off of ebay and use it on his network. I got an unlock code for my G1 from TMobile in the hope that we could test out his sim card in my phone to see if everything works before he drops $200 on a non-returnable phone.

My question is this- if I pop in his sim card and set up the phone for AT&T to show that it works will i be able to just popo in my sim card and easily get my phone back to normal after the test? Is there any risk involved in doing this as i dont want my phone on AT&T permanently?

    thanks

Shouldn't have any problems. My G1 is unlocked and I have switched between T-Mobile and O2 several times with no issues

OK so clarify this for me-- We did the AT&T sim card switch- I have followed all the steps on this post and everything seems to work just fine except 3G. Am I correct in thinking that my friend will not be able to access AT&T 3G network on a G1 with an AT&T sim card? Thanks for clarifying

That is correct T-Mobiles 3g Network uses a different frequency.

G1 comes with 2100mhz, basically world 3G standard. AT&T uses 1900mhz. iPhone works on both.

Hmmm... maybe so you will buy their phones if you want to use their network? Maybe... to keep you on their network... maybe.
