Well, I ordered mine on 10/28, I was told they were on backorder til the 10th, and recieved it on the 7th. No matter what they tell you, order it anyway.

Don't believe your thoughts, most of them aren't true. Think about it.

Sounds good. I hope I get a "solid" one. My preordered one was flimsy as hell.

This may have been said, but they will not in-store return phones. You have to call and do it through customer service because they want you to go through tech support first over the phone. Make sure you call from a different phone off the bat.

Spoke with 4 reps. already. Heres my situation. Order mine online, receive it on the 31st. of Oct.

My G1 creaks when I barely slide open (not fully, barley nudge). I can tell something is wrong with it because behind the screen, its starting to create a trail or scratch from opening the screen. As if its digging in. Ive had it for 10 days now. It also lags a lot when I only have 5 txt. Messages.

I spoke to a rep threw chat. I informed them I need my phone, being that I am on call. So I asked if I can go to a local store and exchange it there. "Elisha T" informed me I can go to a store and get a new one.

I called a TM store and they had 6 left. They would hold one for me. They said to bring the box with all contents and receipt. I then told them I ordered it online. He told me I could NOT exchange it because it was on a different inventory. So that I would have to send it back threw mail.

Well, I can't be without a phone so I chated with a rep. This person couldn't help me. He told me to call 611 to get help.

I called customer service and I spoke with a very nice woman. I can tell she was really trying to help and she felt bad I wasn't satisfied with the phone. I gave her the info I was given. She confirmed that the phone had to be sent back to the original place it came from. I told her what was wrong with the phone. She told me to call Tech Support so they can fix the squeeking. LoL. That's a hardware issue.

So I don't know what to do. How can I just exchange it at a store. I don't want to be stuck with it being like this. Any suggestions?

I had a similar situation. This is what I did. I called 611 and asked to speak to someone in the "contract" department. Just keep asking they will not want to transfer you right away. I spoke to a very nice woman and explained that I preordered and was having issues with the phone and did not want to have to send it back before I was able to get a new one. She told me to send it via UPS and once I had a tracking # to call back with the number. She also put a memo in the system that I could walk into any T mobile store and purchase a new phone for the same price I paid during the presale. It worked for me, but not I have another phone with creaking.

the creaking can't be stopped. i'm on my second phone and it wasn't doing it at first and now it's starting again. i've had my 2nd one for about a week now. i've even been more gentle opening and closing the screen and it is still starting. the phone is just not made well. i'm torn, because i like it a lot, but the negative things are starting to outweigh the good stuff.

See? I knew this would happen.

It's the phone that is made that way. Well, I am getting a replacement this week, I'm going to have to live with it.

At first it doesn't do it, then the fun begins.

Watch all people that have gotten replacements say the same thing.

It will happen one way or the other.

    Just give it time.

I just hope the one I get doesn't squeak louder than the one I have now.

I just spoke with a T-Mobile rep and I was outside of the 14 day period. My phone was creaking horribly and had terrible battery life. He finally agreed to sending me a phone, but it would be the bare bones unit. No back cover, battery, etc. I know you usually would think of this as a refurb, but since the phone was launched only a couple of weeks ago, do they really have refurbs?
    Thanks,
    -Jesse
