Default Getting signed out of AIM and Accelerometer Hardware probs

So I got my G1 yesterday afternoon and everything is wonderful except a few things.

For some reason I can not keep signed into AIM. It logs you out automatically if you aren't actively exhanging IMs with someone. On the other hand, I log out of Google Talk, and come back to try to check on my AIM (which I automatically get logged out of), find I'm logged into Google Talk once again. What's going on there?

And the next problem may be bigger than just a game issue. I downloaded a game called Brain Genius Deluxe and some of the games require you to tilt, turn, and shake the phone. My phone does not register any of my shakes, turns, or tilts at all. My girlfriend who also has the bronze version of the phone works flawlessly with these games. Could it be that the accelerometer in my phone is malfunctioned? Factory defected?

I thought it could be just the game so uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same problem. So I factory reseted the phone. Redownloaded the game. Same problem. Battery out, battery in. Same problem.

Anyone else have problems with this game? Not when the accelerometer registers the movements but goes crazy....but when it actually doesn't register any of the movements at all? Is there any other software on the Android Market that I can test the accelerometer of my phone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The factory data reset is in the "SD card & phone storage" menu under Settings.

I have had the same problem with the accelerometer and I think this is due to the memory capacity being overloaded with apps that we download which may corrupt the hardware because there is not enough memory to use the accelerometer. I fixed this by factory resetting and had no problems until now after downloading so many apps the accelerometer stopped working again. I am going to reset again and go to t-mobile tommorow. By the way I am using and unlocked phone so the results may differ.

its my understanding that getting signed out of AIM is quite common to everyone. It happens to me all the time because I'm too cheap to put out the money for the good IM app so I'm using (and I'm assuming you're also using) the free and less reliable apps. I'm not on AIM that often and it doesn't seem to crash when I'm actually using it instead of it running in the background. If its really important to you, buy Hello AIM or Hello IM or whatever its called. As for the accelerometer, if you've tried a factory reset and you still have the problem, its probably a hardware problem. Just go to t-mobile and say the accelerometer is broken and get a new one.
