GPS w/ Google Maps?

Hey everyone, I am a new Android/G1 user and I just had a simple question. I was wondering if the on board Google Maps program did full GPS w/ voice? I saw the Andnav program, and one of the reviewers said that the Google Maps on board did the same thing, but I can't figure out how to do it so that it looks like a real GPS(like the Andnav pic did). Any help on the subject would be appreciated.

No it doesn't do turn by turn GPS yet.

Just a reminder:
GPS is not turn-by-turn navigation.

Google Maps does GPS just fine, but does not offer turn-by-turn navigation.

I understand it does not do spoken commands but does it at least show the next turn/how far is it on the screen while tracking your location, or do you have to manually click that next button after every turn?

It didn't do that for me. I had to manually follow myself with google maps. Maybe it's an option I missed?
