Meebo is not stable either, It disconnects all the time. The IM+ All-in-One Messenger by SHAPE Services works much better but it is only a 7-day Trial and I don't think it's good enough to pay the $19.95 license fee. I hope somebody makes a better app for AIM soon... The AIM issue has made me think about going back to my Sidekick many times.

Let's face it guys, this phone is too bad ass for anyone to switch back to the sidekick just because aim doesn't work well enough. My advice to everyone is call tmobile and complain about it. Once they've logged enough complaints, they'll probably pressure someone to make an aim app that stays connected. But quite frankly, it's not the apps, it's the network. Meebo is tight, but it signs off too.
But at this point, I doubt many people have switched back to the sidekick because of this. I could be mistaken, who knows, I just know I'm not getting rid of this phone anytime soon.

I highy doubt its the networks fault for the apps not staying connected, as the sidekick IMs stay logged in all the time, even if you lose signal for a few moments it stays signed in the server and once the signal is found it auto updates the phone. I think if Danger or another company develops an app that will work as same as the Sidekick, then we will have one perfect phone. I doubt it will happen since the Sidekick is still a huge money maker for T Mobile and Danger.
hello im works perfect for me

My aim sometimes won't sign off for 2 days straight, other times it signs off every 2 mintues. Do happy camper, don't take it for granted. Where do you live by the way?
Hate to disagree with you but the AIM experience on sidekick has absolutely nothing to do with SMS. The engineers at Danger worked long and hard to create a proxy service and then get that service certified by AOL to specifically avoid the unreliable SMS-based performance that other AIM solutions are rooted in.
How do I know? 'Cause I've been working at danger and testing sidekicks for the past 5 years.
Suggest you get your facts straight, kthxbai
