I lost my G1 phone yesterday, how could i track it? my guess is the batt is prolly dead now, but i downloaded an app that sends you info where the phone could be located, cant seem to rem the site but it has to do with sending a text message to the phone and it text you back, anyone who knows the site please send me a mail at mikeosaks@gmail.com, or idea how i could get my G1 back.
instamapper?
The app was probably gps tracker through the instamapper.com website.
You have to send your phone a text message
GPS_TRACKER_START < device_key >
If you don't have your device key, then you can get it through the instamapper website.
All of that assumes that you signed up on the instamapper site when you downloaded the app
or pintail text "locate (insert whatever pin you set up)" to your phone
Wow! good luck with that

That assumes nobody stole it. As one of my co-workers discovered last week, most thieves know to rip the SIM card out the instant they grab it. After that it does not matter what tracking software you have.
I wish the SIM card and the MicroSD card slot were swapped. That SD card slot is hard to find if you don't know exactly where it is, and it isn't obvious how to open it. If the SIM card were there, a lot of thieves might overlook it, or even mistake the micro SD card (now easily found next to the battery when the back is removed).
It's kind of like my car....it's a 6speed manual transmission. To get into reverse, you have to lift a small ring on the shifter with your finger tips. I've read a couple of accounts of people that got car jacked while they were parked. The thieves couldn't figure out how to get it into reverse, so they abandoned it.
